The Player Development League* (PDL) provides a structured development program for Youth Soccer Players in the Pacific Northwest, U.S.A. We serve many Associations, Clubs, and Teams throughout our service area.

Our Mission

The PDL seeks to play "like vs. like" teams in competitive leagues among clubs that consistently demonstrate the ability to develop Championship Cup caliber teams, ODP players, and a commitment to appropriate developmental philosophies for youth. Utilizing shorter league seasons and fewer summer tournaments, quality of instruction is emphasized over quantity. As clubs within WSYSA focus on the developmental models being promoted within the PDL, more clubs will meet the criteria and be capable of joining the PDL.

Current application criteria are listed on the website.

How We're Organized

The Player Development League (PDL) is managed by the Player Development League Committee (PDLC). The PDLC includes members from the Coaching Directors Committee, nominated and voted into the PDLC, and from the WSYSA District Commissioners, to oversee and operate this recognized WSYSA Inter-District-League (IDL). The Coaching Directors Committee provides initial guidance and requests for adjustments to the developmental model as determined by a simple majority within the CD Committee.

Additionally, the PDLC Committee has appointed a Chief Operating Officer/Chief Technological Officer (COO/CTO) who performs administrative tasks for the committee and also a Webmaster who operates/maintains this website.
